They say defense wins championships, and that old adage will prove true once again when the San Francisco 49ers face the Kansas City Chiefs at Super Bowl 58 on Sunday. These are two of the top defensive teams in the NFL and while even casual fans will know the playmakers on offense, bettors won’t be sleeping on the stars on the other side of the ball.
I dive into the NFL odds and find the best defensive NFL player props for the Super Bowl. That includes backing Chiefs end George Karlaftis to get a sack while also betting on Ambry Thomas to go Over his tackles despite expecting him to struggle in the Big Game.
Here are my best free sack and tackle Super Bowl picks for February 11.

Week 6 betting starts tonight in the Pacific Northwest when the Seattle Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football.
The primetime spotlight is never too bright for San Francisco tight end George Kittle, who tends to rise to the occasion in these standalone games. And after giving away a win last Sunday, the Niners need a big game from the “Mayor of Tight End Town”.
Read along as the superstar tight end headlines my 49ers vs. Seahawks predictions and NFL picks for October 10.

In May I was at a bar in Portland, Ore., with two of my brothers, watching the U.S. women’s national soccer team play the first of a series of pre-World Cup tune-ups. At first, we were the only people there—it was Mother’s Day, around brunchtime. A little after halftime, an older couple sat down at the other end of the bar. They weren’t there for the game, but soon they were drawn in, perhaps because the three of us were shouting at the screen. The man began to pepper me with questions about the game and the team. My eyes on the TV, I told him they were preparing for the World Cup that started in just a few weeks in Canada. When he asked how much tickets were, I said I’d bought a stadium pass for a little under 25 dollars per game. “Why are they so cheap compared to tickets …

The cult of the manager has hit new heights in Cameroon where Rigobert Song’s face stares down from countless roadside billboards and no current national player comes remotely close to rivalling the coach’s fame.
Song certainly exuded a distinctive aura as, fashionably late, he swept into a media theatre in Doha on Wednesday evening. Dressed in a brilliant white tracksuit and with a similarly bright white baseball cap – complete with an outsize peak – crowning his trademark long black dreadlocks, he looked more like a rock star striding on to a stage than a typical football manager.
It was a World Cup like no other. For the last 12 years the Guardian has been reporting on the issues surrounding Qatar&…
Labour will not introduce a 10% tax on Premier League transfers, Sir Keir Starmer has said after reports his party was considering the move.
The shadow culture and sport secretary, Thangam Debbonaire, sparked reports Labour could introduce the transfer levy on Monday when she said she would “look at everything” proposed in the recent fan-led review of football governance.
But on Tuesday morning, Starmer killed off the idea, telling LBC’s Nick Ferrari it was “not part of our plans for football governance”. Asked about introducing the levy, the Labour leader said: “Let me just kill it dead, we’re not looking at that.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo turned in another monstrous night against the Cavs, scoring 40 points on 16-21 shooting. But this was not one of his finer moments. The Greek Freak looked guaranteed to score when he got the ball right under the basket, with only Dwyane Wade anywhere near him. However, the savvy veteran humbled the young beast, as Wade’s 13-year age advantage proved superior to Giannis’s seven-inch edge in height. The old man jumped at the right time and knocked away the ball cleanly, sending the youth to the ground in a lanky puddle of naive humiliation. Despite his game-high point total, more shame was to befall Antetokounmpo. The Cavs won by five, and the Freak fouled out right at the end. …
Some people are fans of the Carolina Panthers. But many, many more people are NOT fans of the Carolina Panthers. This 2018 Deadspin NFL team preview is for those in the latter group. Read all the previews so far here. Your team: Carolina Panthers. Your 2017 record: 11-5. Stop me if you’ve heard this before: they had a winning record in an odd year, then went to the playoffs and their quarterback got fucking creamed. I’m not saying the Saints should have been flagged for this hit, but the next time someone gets flagged for taking Cam Newton’s head off will be the first time. It will not shock you to learn that, despite his eyes twitching like a liar on the witness stand, Newton magically cleared the concussion protocol and went back into that game, and of course the NFL had no …
