International Women s Day is being celebrated around the world, and Premier League clubs and players have taken the opportunity to join in on social media.

Premier League stars Willian, Toby Alderweireld, Javier Hernandez and Christian Benteke were among those to pay tribute to the women in their lives.

Frank Lampard admits he is concerned about football in England continuing while the COVID-19 crisis escalates.

On Friday, London s mayor, Sadiq Khan, declared a major incident in the capital as hospitals face rising numbers of patients.

The English football authorities are carrying out regular tests on players and club staff, and the number of positive cases is rising, with 40 declared in the Premier League for last week.

Lampard said none of those were Chelsea players but confirmed a small number of staff with the London club had tested positive recently.

The time might have come for Chelsea to cash in on one of their longest and most loyal servants.

According to reports, LaLiga giants Barcelona are eager to take winger Willian to Camp Nou before the January transfer window closes on Friday.

The experienced Brazilian has been with Chelsea since 2013, but his contract is due to expire at the end of the season.

Valencia captain Parejo joins rivals Villarreal

Dani Parejo has joined Villarreal on a four-year contract, leaving rivals Valencia where he was captain.
